After 7 years on the Northcoast of Oregon, my family and I have moved into the metropolitan area.  We now live in Hillsboro, OR.  It is on the other side of the mountain from Seaside, and about 20 miles west of Portland.  We moved to Oregon in 1999 from Tucson, Arizona.   Go Wildcats!  We have two wonderful boys, born in 1994 & 1996.  We also have a German Shepherd dog (Aspen), a Pekingese dog (Kassie), a Black Labrador (Roxy), and our youngest son is the father to a cockatiel bird named Johnny B Goode.  Read My Blog

My family is exciting and always on the move.  Our oldest son was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when he was in the 7th grade.  Our younger son was diagnosed TAG (talented and gifted).  They are both very bright, which keeps it interesting in our household.  One of my friends pointed out that we have a fire sign (me), earth sign (dh), water sign (eldest son) and air sign (youngest son) all living together.  Yes, it is always active here.

 I started scrapbooking in 1997 when our youngest son was only one.  My first pages have a couple of themes.  First, use as many colors as possible.  And second, cram as many pictures as possible on each page.  After a few months I found a wonderful scrapbook store and a few magazines.  I could not believe what they could do on a page!  Wow, the possibilities.  When we moved to Oregon in 1999 I stopped teaching school.  It seemed like a good time to take a couple of years off and get settled into our new home. I was excited to have more time for scrapbooking.  Yet, I was unable to find any good supplies in my area.  I met my 'upline' (the person with whom I signed up to be a consultant) on the Internet.  She shared Close To My Heart with me.  I could not believe the top quality of all of the products.  Plus, all of the stamps came assembled.  Yahoo!  So, I decided that a small investment was worth the risk.  Risk?  I now wonder why I ever thought that it would be a risk to become a consultant for Close To My Heart.  I have not gone back to teaching school.  Instead I enjoy a flexible schedule with my own business.  Wow, doing what I love, making money, and making my own hours.  Perfect for me!  I believe that each person is an important part of my business.  Every customer and other consultant has a story to tell that can make me a better person and can give me a better grip on my business.  I try to build my Close To My Heart business one person at a time.  I have been fortunate with Close To My Heart.  I have earned four cruises for two so far!   My family is looking forward to seeing the Meddetarian from the balcony of our stateroom in October of 2008.   There is nothing better than a vacation paid for by your company!  If you are interested in working toward the New Zealand trip in January 2010 please let me know.  As a member of our team I can help you to envision and achieve your goals.  I want to meet you where you want to be with this company.
